Teflon tape or Thread Seal Tape (PTFE) is used by plumbers worldwide for general water plumbing applications and comes on a convenient spool with cap. The teflon tape is flame resistant and provides tight assembly and easy dis-assembly. Teflon tape is easy to use and the quality is consistent in accordance to ISO 9001-2000 standards. PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of any known solid material and is very non-reactive making it compatible with a very large range of materials including: water, steam, compressed air, alcohols, fatty acids, kerosene, natural gas, nitrogen, liquid ammonia, diluted acids, liquid soap, ethylene glycol, gasohol, and LPG. Teflon tape also works well in extreme temperatures (-100 C to +260 C / -212 F to +500 F).
